Cherry Ice Cream
I always see Traverse City Cherry ice cream in the store, so I thought I’d give it a try, and it turns out it is really easy to make and a prefect way to save that cherry flavor for all year long!
Ingredients:
3 cups Interwater Farms pitted sweet cherries
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup milk
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Ingredients (chocolate swirl):
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 teaspoons coconut oil
Directions:
Combine the cherries, cream, milk, sugar, salt, and vanilla in a blender and puree until completely smooth.
While the ice cream is churning, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil in a small glass bowl. Microwave for one minute, and remove and stir until smooth. Heat more if needed.
Let chocolate swirl cool to room temperature while ice cream finishes churning.
Once ready, transfer about 1/3 of the ice cream to an airtight container and drizzle about 1/3 of the melted chocolate on top. Repeat this twice.
Freeze until ready to eat or serve immidiately for soft-serve ice cream.
